After the recent winter storm, many realized just how important the job of the truck driver is. With many trucks unable to run or delayed, some goods were not available to the consumer for purchase. Some of course were delivered, damaged.
The storm served as a reminder that there are still many good people who are willing to go out of their way to do good to strangers, demonstrating the very essence of, “The Good Samaritan.” The good in people comes from God. (Ecclesiastes 3:11)
But we live in a fallen world. Sin came in through the sin of Adam and Eve, but redemption came through Jesus Christ. (Genesis 3:17, Romans 5:12 KJV)
God knew that man would be bent on sin and yet chose to create us. He so desired to have a relationship with man and to redeem all mankind that he was willing to give His only begotten Son to accomplish this. Jesus was the lamb of God slain before the foundation of the world. (Revelation 13:8 KJV)
Man comes into this world and tries to fit the God shaped hole with so many other things, such as, relationships, money, things, careers, etc. But only God can fill the longing in our souls. Just look at tabloid magazines. Money doesn’t make people happy. What some would call perfect relationships do not satisfy. Until God, through the Son, fills a person’s heart through the power of the Holy Spirit, people are left longing –searching.
The answer to our greatest need is found in Christ Jesus. “And Jesus said unto them, ‘I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.’” John 6:35 KJV
While there are many good people in this world, in some way each one has been damaged by the sinful nature that entered the world through sin, and the only way to be made whole is to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.
When a product is damaged, it is best to work with the manufacturer of the product and/or its origin. The same holds true for each human being.
