The DAC 'St. Paddy's Day Punch Out' this Friday night

The Denver Athletic Club (DAC) will host its annual signature event, The 'St. Paddy’s Day Punch Out Boxing Extravaganza' this coming Friday, March 15, 2013, this event a private fundraiser that has been sold out for quite some time.

The boxing entertainment is again produced by ‘Poor Boys Pro Boxing’ (Jim 'Smitty' Smith) and features six bouts of professional boxing in what has become a highly anticipated portion of the evening with proceeds from the event benefitting Mile High Squash. http://milehighsquash.org/

The boxing card has some of Colorado’s better professional boxers ready to showcase their skills making this an evening of fun, numerous local dignitaries in attendance helping support this worthwhile cause.

Sponsors for the event include: Boulder Beer, The Diamond Cabaret, and Egan Printing with opportunities to donate including a silent auction that always has an impressive display of memorabilia up for sale.

Proceeds from the boxing program will benefit Mile High Squash (MHS), a nonprofit volunteer-based organization headquartered inside The Denver Athletic Club that serves urban middle school and high school youth through mentoring, tutoring and athletics (squash).

Founded in 2008 by member-volunteers of The Denver Athletic Club, Mile High Squash now works with 49 students from Denver Public Schools. The most senior students in the program started five years ago, and are now in the tenth grade. The youngest students are in the sixth grade and started in the fall of 2012. Students spend more than 425 hours per year with their MHS peers, staff and volunteers, working to become college-bound. More than 60 volunteers contribute 2500+ hours each year coaching, tutoring and mentoring students.

Founded in 1884, the Denver Athletic Club is a private, member-owned athletic and social club in the heart of downtown Denver. The DAC is consistently ranked one of the Top Ten Best Athletic Clubs by the Platinum Clubs of America and Readers Choice for Top Health Club by 5280 Magazine.
