May 18, 2011 - The CW website has posted a new clip of a rare video interview with The Vampire Diaries executive producer, Kevin Williamson.
While Kevin gives his share of interviews on the popular vampire show, it is not that often that we get to see him on video answering questions for the fans. On this great clip, the man who many on the set have called a genius, gives some very telling answers about TVD.

Asked by Candice Accola (Caroline Forbes on the show) Kevin answers questions from Facebook fans, and he does not disappoint.
Some of the topics covered include how supporting characters have evolved, like Caroline and Katherine (Nina Dobrev), and favorite character to write, Kevin said he loves writing Damon (Ian Somerhalder), as his snakiness is awesome, and he loves the good and evil in him.
Kevin also mentioned that Katherine was only supposed to have a small part in the show, but with Nina's portrayal of the self-indulged vampire, they just had to keep her around.

Then, for more juicy information, Kevin gave some teasers for season three of The Vampire Diaries. One thing we can expect is to, at some point, meet Caroline's dad. And from what we are told, he is going to find out about vampires and he may even "bring some surprises of his own."
According to Kevin, we are also going to see other supernatural creatures besides werewolves, vampires and witches, but only "when the time is appropriate."

And as one of the bigger things we will see on the third season, Kevin said that we are going to see things progress between Elena and Damon.
"We're gonna watch and sort of see how their friendship, or whatever they're meant to be, progresses and where it goes," Kevin teased, "I think it's going to be a very interesting storyline, it's going to be explosive."

Of course, Kevin said that another huge part of season three is Klaus and what he will bring to the show. He revealed that Klaus agenda extends much further than just breaking the curse.
