Has Haute Cuisine really gone to the dogs? Thanks to 30 renowned U.S. chefs a new cookbook filed with recipes for the family dog is now hitting the shelves at local bookstores. On Thursday night, The Culinary Canine will launch in Chicago with a special party at the Hotel Monaco the features the four local chefs featured in the cookbook sampling their recipes for canine and people visitors.
“Although the cookbook is for dogs, the recipes are all natural ingredients and are healthy for anyone – people and pets – to eat,” says Trisha Trinco, public relations associate for the Anti-Cruelty Society. “ The party on Thursday will be a great time for people to check out some of the dishes and raise funds for the cats and dogs at the Anti-Cruelty Society at the same time.”
Local chefs Karyn Calabrese from Karyn’s Raw Café, Steve Chiapetti of Viand, Troy Graves of Montana and Nick La Casse of The Drawing Room will be on hand from 6 to 8 p.m. for a sampling of their dishes (with some of their dogs on hand to participate). The event costs $10 for people to get in and dogs are free.
The Anti-Cruelty Society will be bringing along their resident spokescat Guy to meet and greet the visitors and one dog looking for a home will also be at the event. The book will be $15 and some of the portions of the proceeds will be donated to the Anti-Cruelty Society.
The Culinary Canine is being launched nationally with special events slated the home cities of the various chefs who contributed recipes to the book. Learn more online or by following the book tour on Facebook.
