Autumn is here Charleston, and I love it because we have the best weather here, which is why Charleston is always voted as one the friendliest cities in the U.S. This being said, we still need to take heed with our skin, because our summers here in Charleston are so brutal. Yes, because I am a professional aesthician, I will tell you to have a great skin regime; cleanser, exfoliate, masque, moisturize and sunscreen it up. But remember what goes inside of our bodies is just as important if not more than what we use topically on our skin.
Beauty cocktails are a great way to put antioxidants, and vitamins into the body as well as hydration. Here are some great recipes that you can serve at your next spa party or just because, you’re a little thirsty.
H2O, is always the first on the list; because of the fact that it hydrates from inside out and detoxifies as, and if you drink water all the time every day, you will have a great healthy glow. Nothing is better than keeping it simple; but if you want to spruce up your water and add a little flavor, forget the artificial.
Cucumbers taste great in water, it’s refreshing and very subtle. Cucumbers contain Vitamin C and Caffeic Acid; both of which help in soothing skin irritant, inflammation (the acid helps to fight water retention). Cucumbers also help to restore the acid mantle of the skin, because it has the same ph as our skin. Cucumber juice also contains silica, and this is essential for healthy connective tissue, which is going to certainly help with the skin’s complexion. Simply put cucumbers are just great for the skin.

Cucumber- Orange Detox: This is a water infusion that contains high amounts of Vitamin K, A, C, and E, so this detox drink is also rich in antioxidants.
1.5 Liters of Water
Wash the cucumbers and oranges really good with the skin still on. Place sliced cucumbers into a large pitcher, and fill ¾ with water. Squeeze each orange into the cucumber water and then add the remainder of the water into the pitcher. Let the water stand for 15 minutes at room temperature or in the fridge before serving, and you can drink it all day, this batch is good for only 12 hours, you should be able to drink it all, and then just make another batch for the next day. You will forget all about soft drinks.
