Prolonged stress, life is being accomplished in one long misogynistic blur. You must carry on you have others depend on it. Food, drink, popping energy pills, caffeine, you can’t go on like this forever. You go to sleep and wake up feeling even more tired.
The problems with burnout
Overstimulation, compensating for exhaustion and the will of high energy behavior may feel exuberating at first but your adrenals are fatigued, your energy level of hormones is exhausted the crash and burn was inevitable. Memory loss, accidents and illness may have replaced accomplishment. Are you “dragon ass,” perpetually anal snapping off people’s heads like they were Barbie dolls, popping something to help you sleep, prone to crying, daily details that you need to remember have skipped off to who knows where, gained or lost weight, racked with aches and pains, and tantrums?
Hitting the wall
Prolonged stress over long periods of time can develop into heart or autoimmune disease or a car wreck. Managing stress and learning to relax and giving yourself the permission is detrimental to your health. Don’t wait until you are forced to relax with a dirt nap by then it’s too late, but it happens. Balance is everything.
Eat more often adding anti-inflammatory items to your diet, many antioxidants, water, fiber and vitamins and minerals to each snack or meal include your fish oils.
Working around the clock proves nothing and it doesn’t make you look superior. Don’t take on anything that gets in the way of your sleep, depriving you of oxygen. Do add healthy, mind-blowing physical activity. Quiet time is imperative during the day, frequent bouts of sitting peacefully will help to recharge your batteries and bring your center back down to earth. At one rather stressful job I had, I used to go in the bathroom, lock the door and lay down on the couch for 10 minutes. I walked in dragging and left invigorated.
Not being able to sleep while you are in high stress out mode for a period of week is not uncommon, it’s when it stretches out into months and years something is going on. First off you have behaviors that are sustaining ‘no sleep. Everyone has times when they only sleep a few hours a night, but then the body gets the rest back the next few nights by going to bed earlier or taking naps.
Vigorous, heart-thumping exercise for at least one hour 4-6 times a weeks is a must if you find yourself in this marathon state of mind, cut your caffeine consumption, make time to once a week to do something fun for spontaneous smiles. When you are not sleeping at least 7-8 hours a night avoid heavy meals through the day to avoid weight gain.
Practice peace and kindness
Happiness is an inside job, take care of yourself and pay attention to your angels and guides who send you those little messages throughout your day in the form of people, places and things that tell you to please slow down, that your pace isn’t normal, they are in place for a reason. You are a human ‘being’ not a human ‘doing.’
