The cruelest April Fools joke last week by far was the BLS Numbers and how many in the public will just blindly believe this drivel that the President as well as Media are touting this as a huge improvement in the jobless situation. They are shoveling HOGWASH!
The BLS reported Friday: Nonfarm payroll employment increased by 216,000 in March, The number of unemployed persons (13.5 million) and the unemployment rate (8.8 %) changed little in March. The labor force also was little changed over
the month. Since November 2010, the jobless rate has declined by 1.0 %
The number of job losers and persons who completed temporary jobs, at 8.2 million, was little changed in March but has fallen by 1.3 million since November 2010. The number of long-term unemployed (those jobless for 27 weeks or more) was 6.1 million in March; their share of the unemployed increased from 43.9 to 45.5 percent over the month.
They did forget to mention, however that jobless Americans age 50 and older have been out of work an average of 82 weeks and that statistic gets worse every month. The only reason that figure is not well over 150 weeks is that American companies keep laying off the 50 and older crowd at a rate 10 times higher than younger workers each month.
Last week Governor of Michigan signed into law a 6 week cut in that state’s UI benefits. Not to mention the states who have refused to allow their long term unemployed residents to even take advantage of the extend time to utilize the 4 extensions currently in place. Idaho, Missouri, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Tennessee, Indiana, South Carolina and 11 other states. Let’s face it - THIS is an outright WAR on the unemployed, the poor and the middle class. And we had better start fighting back NOW - before it is too late.
Commentary:
Who do these guys think they are kidding?
First of all:
Non-farm payroll employment increased by 216,000 in March?
OK, now factor in the total New Jobless claims for March (1,558,000) and you see how insane things really are in the USA.
Losing jobs at around 388,000 per week (avg. new UI claims for March) is an annual job loss rate of over 20 million or about 1.6 million per month. Instead of jobs, lets use money to make the point.
If you made $216,000.00 and spent $1.6 million dollars per month would anyone be stupid enough to declare that some sort of positive progress? But that is exactly what they are trying to connivence you of using skewed and incomplete Job statistics. DO THE MATH PEOPLE! We really NEED someone in the MEDIA to tell America the truth!
The number of job losers and persons who completed temporary jobs, at 8.2 million, was little changed in March but has fallen by 1.3 million since November 2010.
OK so 1.3 million is all it takes to change the UE rate by 1 full % point right? So the 7 million plus 99ers or UI exhaustees they are no longer counting actually equate to 6 full % points in the national Unemployment rate and now you understand why Obama will NEVER openly support more benefits for the 99ers - why he refuses to even mention the UI exhaustees and prefers to distract America with issues on foreign shores.
If benefits for those who desperately need them were extended, even for a short time - The BLS couldn’t get away with NOT COUNTING over 7 million people and the UE Rate will officially be at least 6 points higher which would hurt Wall Street. After all, we can let Americans go hungry and homeless every day but God forbid we do anything that might hurt the wealthy Wall Streeters!
Apparently even our President views us as SHEEPLE! And why not? We act like it and as long as that is the case we will continue to be lied to, squeezed out, ignored and screwed over. Are you mad enough yet to do something? Or are you willing to sit idly by while the super Rich in this country, with the help of Washington DC annihilate you and the American Dream forever?
