“The crown of white supremacy”

Just a few decades ago Madiba declared that “color discrimination” had no place in democracy. It is my belief that capitalist extremist supremacy has no place in a democratic society either.

Capitalist extremism is every bit as destructive and dangerous as extremism of any kind, racial, religious or otherwise.

What is being practiced in the US today is capitalist extremism.

Those capitalist extremists who are most destructive are rewarded with multimillion and in some cases billion dollar bonuses even as the majority population does its best to survive on slave-wages for doing no less work than the billionaires.

At its very core capitalist extremism is racism by another name. Racism in the US is similar to Whac-A-Mole. Despite the best efforts of those of us who confront, challenge and oppose racism, the practice just keeps popping back up in another form.

Today racism pops up in the form of capitalist extremists.

These capitalist extremists appeal to the “guns and bibles” crowd---closet racists and bigots.

That crowd votes for extremists. In office those capitalist extremist rock-star wannabe, steppin’ fetchit boot licking lapdogs of the one-percent go out of their way to destroy any semblance of anything egalitarian.

The public policy that flows from capitalist extremists is that when those capitalist extremists eviscerate our financial system, “we the people” are obliged to balance their books for them. In 2008 that total by some accounts was $23.7 trillion, twice the annual gross domestic product of the US.

Those same one-percenters with their hand out in 2008 recovered and are doing well while three of four Americans are living paycheck to paycheck.

Not only are capitalist extremists better off than the rest of us but with that money they are creating an almost impermeable system that insulates them from us.

Those who control the economy control everything worth controlling including public policy and politics and its politicians.

For that reason the mid-term elections of 2014 will be telling, very telling.

From Texas Red: a cratered landscape of for profit prisons, deplorable apartheid public education, lack of healthcare and politicians and majority population intent on keeping it that way…

Hasta Siempre,
