Fans of cult classic film “The Crow” can take a slight sigh of relief with some news regarding who is circling the lead role in the remake.
According to Collider yesterday, James McAvoy (“X-Men: First Class”) has been in talks to take on the lead role in a story based on James O’Barr‘s comic book series about a man coming back from the dead to avenge his fiancée’s murder.
The original film, from director Alex Proyas, achieved cult status when its star Brandon Lee was killed on set during filming due to an “accident” (it is very shady), and now director F. Javier Gutierrez (“Before the Fall”) will be taking up duties behind the camera.
The final script still hasn’t been written so there isn’t much known about the plot, but McAvoy is becoming a tremendous talent, and with his slate of upcoming projects he is sure to be the talk of the town for a little bit; it would be wise to get him signed on.
