Since it was revealed last year at E3 2013, we haven't heard a whole lot of details surrounding The Crew, but with some new information that recently came to light, we know how long it'll take players to drive from one side of the world to the other.
Julian Gerighty, who is the creative director on The Crew, talked about how long it will take players to race from one side of the game's map to another, as well as what sounds like the craziest race we've ever heard of.
"A coast to coast race in the game, in a high-speed performance car, sticking to the roads is about an hour and a half, but if you want to go off-road, it's about two hours and a half.
"We have one race, which is just for those maniacs, it's not on the main path or anything. It goes around the circumference of the country and it's a four hour race," Gerighty said.
Four hours? How many times do you think you'll participate in that race? Gerighty then talked about what he is expecting when it comes to the next 10 years of gaming on the Xbox One and PS4.
"I think the last generation, PS3 and Xbox 360, was all about HD. When I bought my PS3, I had to upgrade maybe a year down the line.
"I think this generation is all going to be about that shared experience, the seamless single-play and multiplayer experience, the living-world experience is what we like to call it. We're part of a handful of titles that have been announced and are doing that, but I'm sure...in a couple of years, it'll be the norm for most games," Gerighty said.
Online, multiplayer experiences have absolutely been the trend as of late. While we still have a strong presence of single-player games, the majority of titles should start to shift toward the online, multiplayer focus across the board.
We do not have a release date yet for The Crew, but last we heard from Ubisoft, the game is 100% coming out in 2014. It will be available on PC, Xbox One and PS4. As of now, The Crew is not coming to the Xbox 360 or PS3, despite previous rumors to the contrary.
