The course of surrender the course of courage

Avoidance is another way to deny surrendering. Why because you feel safe in the story you crated. You shudder in fear at making the changes you need in your life right now, scared to death you won’t be able to do it, to make the changes you need for your life right now. Because you feel safe in the story you created, you’re comfortable in the small more manageable version.

Your vulnerable psyche

One thing you know for sure is that no one is coming to save you and you aren’t safe. You can’t move forward while you’re still saddled with shame and fear with the ground of you life so shaky afraid others will find out about the dark insanity. You need to let go of the criticism, screaming, humiliation of your past it’s the only thing you can do, when the only meaning you can give to the barrage of your thoughts that there must be something terribly wrong with you.

Confronting the way fear influences your life and trying to avoid rejection and embarrassment and shame that are your cross to bear, drive you to doubt yourself and keep you stuck in anger in resentment, stressed out. What else do you have left?

Now you can admit you fear people looking too closely at you

Do you want to keep struggling to maintain control over your life? Or will you surrender to the grand design, and exhale and see yourself and what you know about yourself. Trusting each experience that has gotten you to the place where you are where you can be your empowered self, finding your voice again.

When you let go you resign as the general manager and overseer to control the story

You stop believing you must take control of everything. You must take power in this moment and surrender to the path even if you don’t know where it’s going. The truth is we really don’t know where the universe is going to guide us. But when we stop overworking, over eating, over addicting, running, avoiding and making up the bigger story, and we stop to listen to the whispers that the Divine offers us through many different voices; courage, new future, our own greatness will tip toe in when all the activity stops, especially the activity of the mind.

The Surrender Process

Being in control of everything is like being outside of the boat in the sea, and you are splashing and trying to push water at the boat to make the boat go where you want it to. But your splashes are just that, droplets of water that accomplish nothing especially when in comparison to the strength of the sea against the boat.

You’re fight to hold yourself up in the water, and fighting to control the direction of the water, and fighting which way the boat is going. It’s exhausting. When all you needed to do was just to get inside the boat and sit down. It’s sounds so easy and reassuring, especially when you are tired and have been outside of the boat most of your life pushing and shoving and trying to hold yourself up above the water. It can also seem a scary thing to do, to just get inside the boat and take a seat. Who will control the water against the boat? How will the water get there, against the boat? Where are the oars? You can make yourself a frantic mess. Just sit down inside the boat. Inside the moment instead of outside of it. Let the boat go peacefully down the stream, exhale, and just go with the flow.

1. What are you not accepting? Where are the areas of conflict in your life, where you are refusing to accept things the way they actually are.

2.What does the voice of control say to you? What is the negative dialogue that limits your ability to let go in any part of your life.

3.When things got beyond your control. What default behaviors or strategies did you use? What were the outcomes?

4.Surrender. What does the voice of surrender tell you? You have heard the voice many times before in your life.

5.Write a letter of resignation. Dear Universe. I give up ( write down the date) to activate your courage, the sooner, the better.

Pick a personal courage anthem

A song or poem. Allow yourself to live it, sing it, dance it every day. It will activate your courage.

Give yourself, your inner child positive, confidence building messages every day

Make a list of the risks you have taken. Let yourself feel proud of your courage and confidence.
