With the depressing economic downfall, the rise in cigarette tax, the world fighting hard to go green, and talks of statewide smoking bans in full effect, smokers everywhere are shiverring like real addicts trying to find ways to stop smoking.
While health officials claim to scrounge for healthy alternatives to tabacco smoke -- a new trend and possible solution called e-smoking sounds off as alarming.
A new company, Smoking Everywhere, is marketing electronic cigarettes as a healthier alternative to smoking and a way to quit; but health professionals argue they may be addictive.
Kinda hard to absorb, realizing, the nicotine patch is addicting, nicotine gum is also very much addicting, and for the most part smoking tobacco is addicting.
The new smoke-free, battery-operated “e-cigarettes” are allegedly healthier than real cigarettes, but there's little data about the safety of the new product. As with the majority of products sold today, they're not approved by the FDA, and there's no evidence that they will help users quit smoking, as manufacturers claim.
NOTE: Smoking Everywhere Electronic Cigarettes contain absolutely no tobacco.
For a person to stop smoking, they have to really want to. The e-cigarettes sound like a great way to support someone who is actually ready to quit. What's really the problem here?
Health officials should come up with better exuses for knocking a company that has come up with an alternative to tobacco smoke -- which for many is working -- than what they have so far.
Health officials told Newsday they had numerous concerns and reservations. The cigarettes come in flavors like chocolate and strawberry, raising concerns that minors will start smoking them. Maureen Crowley, director for preventive medicine for the Suffolk Health Department, said that, “anything that promotes or glamorizes smoking is a step backward.”
As far as minors, e-cigarettes are not targeting minors. E-cigarettes target people who want to stop smoking; people who need help to stop smoking; people who more than likely would enjoy the taste of chocolate and strawberry over the taste of tabacco. So again, what's really the problem?
The real question is, do any of these health officials have any other reasonable solutions?
Dr. Steven Schroeder, physician and smoking cessation expert at the University of California-San Francisco Medical Center, said that “If it is a choice between smoking a tobacco product or a nicotine replacement - of course, keep taking the nicotine, It is a heck of a lot healthier than tobacco smoking.”
Not only are the e-cigarettes an alternative to tobacco smoke. The company it-self has created an income opportunity for anyone wanting to help others and themselves survive the harmful effects of tobacco, survive the smoking ban, survive the economy and contribute to a green environment. -- Learn More

FDA BANS Electronic Cigarettes Petition
Incorrect poster, Lautenberg wrote a letter asking the FDA regulate, that is far different from banning them. Please be sure before spreading misinformation.
Cigarettes tried to kill me... Personal Vaporizers saved my life. Idiots with small minds and no concern for a fellow human life will sign a petitition to ban these great devices.
Think about it. Someone you know smokes. Wouldn't you like to help them, rather than kill them? luxvapor.com
How do we know what is in these e-cigs? They are made in China -- you know, where the tainted dog food, baby milk and toys come from. No ingredients are listed and no one really knows what they are. Why would anyone inhale vapors into their lungs without having any idea what they are inhaling? Oh whoops -- all smokers do that anyway, so why not add more mystery substance into your body.
1. They are not illegal.
2. They, likely, can be used as a replacement therapy but in the end this is a method to retain the kinesthetic and addictive attributes of cigarettes. They are, in most likelihood, "healthier" than cigarettes, but nicotine is not without it's own health questions and detriments. Before this gains widespread adoption for a replacement therapy, it bears responsibility of a regulatory agency to scientifically study the device, the ingredients, and the effectiveness of use as a replacement therapy.
Lautenberg, and many others like him are fools and are being criticized by many doctors also! The ignorant should not rule the people and try and stop a healthier way to smoke. Many doctors are standing up and saying they are much safer than the "big tobacco killers" that just keep poisoning miilions of us!

"Outrage recently hit the e-smoking or "vaping" community when Sen. Frank R. Lautenberg (D-NJ) recently wrote to the FDA demanding that the sale of electronic cigarettes be halted.
What was less publicized was that the Lautenberg had been bankrolled by pharmaceutical companies, according to an open records search done by the Ashtray Blog, during his election campaignDoes Big Pharm Have Links to an Anti E-Cigarette Campaign? to the tune of $126,000."

As and off again, on again smoker, I find these e-cigs to be a lifesaver, literally! I can finally enjoy "smoking" without actually filling up my body with thousands of harmful carcinogens.
Yes, nicotine is addictive and people who previously did not smoke real cigs should not smoke an e-cig. But then again, it's their choice, not the governments!
The real problem here is that Congressmen have their hands tied in tobacco and pharmaceutical's purse. The government doesn't give a damn about the public's health, because if they did they would probably subsidize the manufacturing of e-cigs like they did with tobacco not long ago!
The truth is, finally people can "smoke" without it being harmful, and that just scares the nannies and do-gooders in the government because they can no longer control our lives in the name of "health".
Long live e-cigs! I hope all of the honest e-cig businesses prosper! I'm thinking of becoming a distributor myself!
