Harry Kibler
William Kelly has an aggressive transparency agenda, was the executive director of National Taxpayers United of Illinois and has positioned himself as the populist candidate. He vocally opposes the "Fairness" Doctrine and has taken legal action against the sale of Thomson Prison.
But he is also a comedian and apparent whiskey addict (according to his blog), and seems to have based his entire campaign strategy on publicity stunts and bizarre antics. I like his sales pitch, but have serious doubts about his seriousness as a candidate.
There have been many accusations by Kelly that opponent Jim Dodge comes from a compromised RINO background and has advanced the interests of Democrats, but I have been unable to unearth any independent evidence of this. Dodge also has the endorsements of many solid conservative groups, and recently had the Illinois Conservatives Facebook Group endorse him after rescinding its prior endorsement of Kelly.
Judy Baar Topinka is the Mark Kirk of this race...openly pro-abortion, extremely pro-gay, endorsed by left-wing unions...not even vaguely a conservative on virtually anything.

Robert, Are you serious? No evidence that Dodge is a RINO or has been playing dirty? How about Joe Novak on Dodge's D2? How about his campaign contribution to Topinka in 2006? Oh, Robert, you've disappointed me so. The evidence is as glaring as a klieglight, but you haven't found it?
Kelly is a complete and total incompetent. His lawsuit trying to stop Thomson prison was completely lacking any legal rationale. The stuff he cites in the lawsuit are inaccurate. He has no clue about State finance, or the Office of Comptroller. It is a disservice to even promote the idiot.
Yet another opinion commentator who doesn't do his homework...or maybe just biased for his own personal reasons. Kelly's TV show is a hoot and so are his blogs - and he is a satirist. I think it's great that a conservative finally knows how to play the liberals' game and not just let them have the entertainment industry. I see you are also attacking Mr. Kelly for going against the Springfield atheist display. A publicist stunt? My God man, you are attacking him for going against the atheists? Are you sure you are a conservative? Mr. Dodge played very dirty in the comptroller's race and I have no respect for him or his people. I guess it is fortunate that the Macon County examiner had so little effect in the race.
