Community Perks Santa Monica is a program established by a young couple who wanted to give back to the community in honor of the birth of their baby girl. They created this program to support local businesses and nonprofit organizations.

The couple created a fundraiser card that offers special discounts and perks to exclusive eateries, retail shops and services in Santa Monica. While supporters of participating nonprofits would purchase their card to receive perks, half of the proceeds of the sale of the cards will go to the organization of their choice. The local businesses are also indirectly supporting such nonprofits by providing the card holders with exclusive discounts and special deals.

Gifting a Community Perks Card to a family member, friend, neighbor or co-worker is a great idea to show your appreciation for them. The rewards card provides daily exclusive perks to almost 40 local businesses in the area from now until Aug. 31, 2014. The card costs $20 and 50% of the purchase goes back to one of 14 local nonprofits/schools of your choice.

Forte Animal Rescue has been chosen as one of its beneficiaries, and since Forte dopes not have paid staff, donations raised through this campaign will go straight to the care of animals.

To show someone gratitude while supporting the animals at the same time, visit and purchase your Community Perks Card under Forte Animal Rescue. You will be helping to save lives while you enjoy your exclusive perks.

A 100% no-kill rescue, Forte Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to finding solutions for the problem of pet overpopulation through its educational activities, animal adoption efforts, and outreach program. Based in Marina del Rey, CA, Forte was established in 2003. To date, the organization has saved the lives of more than 1,100 dogs. Forte typically has 30 to 40 animals in its adoption program at any given time, and it holds ongoing adoption events, where people can meet many of the dogs available for adoption.

In addition to ongoing boarding and other expenses, Forte Animal Rescue continually incurs significant veterinary medical expenses for the animals it rescues. Donations or any support is always greatly appreciated. Donations can be made online or via regular mail at PO Box 10085, Marina del Rey, CA 90295. The organization is also looking for foster homes for its rescued dogs, along with volunteers to help its adoption events.
