This season the Concert with Conversation series, held at the Community Music Center (CMC) in conjunction with San Francisco Performances, began with an evening with Dutch cellist Pieter Wispelwey serving as a preview for his two-concert traversal of the solo cello suites by Johann Sebastian Bach. Four events remain in this series, and they will take place between January and April. The visiting performers who will open themselves up to conversation with the audience will be as follows on the following dates:

  1. January 31: soprano Jessica Rivera
  2. March 7: pianist Angela Hewitt
  3. March 28: trumpeter Sean Jones, who just finished a six-year tenure with the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with a performance in the Ertegün Jazz Series
  4. April 11: violinist Stefan Jackiw, accompanied by pianist Anna Polansky

All four of these Concerts with Conversation take place on a Friday, beginning at 6 p.m. They are held in the CMC Capp Street Concert Hall at 544 Capp Street in the Mission. Each of these programs has its own event page, hyperlinked to the performer’s name, at the CMC Web site. Each of these pages provides additional background information.
