The Communist Party endorsed Obama in 2008, and they have endorsed him again for this year’s election. In his December 21 blog, Vice Chair of the Communist Party USA, Jarvis Tyner, comments on remarks given at the November 11, 2011 meeting of the Communist Party National Committee. He confirms the importance of the build up to the 2012 elections to “set the stage for a new progressive era and for a socialist transformation”.
It's unlikely that the Communist Party would support a candidate that's not supportive of their goals? Is this the transformation that Obama has promised Americans?
Jarvis Tyner is executive vice chair of the Communist Party USA and a long-time member of the party's national board.. He was a founding member of the Black Radical Congress and served on its national coordinating committee for five years.
Born in Philadelphia, he joined the Communist Party USA at the age of 20. After several years working in various industrial jobs in the Philadelphia area, where he was a member of the Amalgamated Lithographers and the Teamsters union, he moved to New York in 1967 to become the national chair of the DuBois Clubs of America, and later founding chair of the Young Workers Liberation League. He was the Communist Party USA candidate for vice president of the U.S. in 1972 and 1976, running with party leader Gus Hall.
Jarvis has a victim mentality, seeing racism in every aspect of life including the workplace, schools and even the Tea Party movement.
He believes that socialism will eliminate racism and poverty. He writes, “If capitalism isn't working, why not go in a socialist direction? Isn't socialism an alternative that at least ought to be examined? Of course, in our view, there is no question we ought to be heading that way. But we Communists have to be very sophisticated in this period on how we respond to things. The main thing we have to do is build unity with the broad mass of people, those who are now going through a radical transformation in their way of thinking, those who want to see this country become a better country and want to see a more peaceful world. People are tired of 30 years of right-wing misdirection. They are fed up with that. They are looking for something better. According to a recent Pew Research poll a considerable percentage of people even have a preference for socialism - and they have the right to do that. To me this is healthy and natural, and it isn't any conspiracy - it's just people trying to live a better life.”
He also outlines the strategy that the Communist party proposes to insure the re-election of Obama and create a socialist America. Jarvis Tyner makes it clear that a key part of the Communist Party/Democratic Party game plan, will be use of the “race card”. When anyone criticizes Obama, it’s not for his policies, lack of leadership or raising the debt ceiling…it’s simply his race. Jarvis preaches, “If the Republicans and Tea Party gang want people to stop accusing them of racism, there is a solution. They must end their long history of using racist scapegoating and pushing racist policies and practices.”
Jarvis comments on the importance of dividing Americans, and the tools used towards that goal are the Occupy USA movement and the Jobs Act both of which support the victim mentality. The assumption here is that Americans are not accountable or responsible for their own lives but are victims of the wealthy. He has to stress that the rich are keeping the poor down; Republicans are racists and will pass legislation hurting the poorest of Americans, the Blacks and Hispanics. He and the Communist Party actually sees socialism within its grasp: when he says:
"Next year we are proposing a national conference on strategy and tactics. How do we get to socialism? The incredible 2011 election victories in Ohio, Mississippi, Arizona, Maine, New Jersey and elsewhere tell us a lot about where masses are at politically. It’s time for action; to mobilize masses for jobs, to tax the rich and to register, educate and mobilize, voters for next November and beyond. The right wing can be defeated in 2012.”
It’s ironic that because there is freedom of speech in the United States, people like Jarvis can spew his hate without fear of reprisal. If he gets his way, free speech will be eliminated.
Americans have to standup for the protection of our liberties, the constitution and our prosperity. We cannot let Communism dictate the future of the greatest country on earth.
