Volunteers needed for the 2014-15 Cleveland Orchestra concert and event season at Severance Hall

Evening interview sessions scheduled on August 4, 14, and 20, 2014

In order for the Cleveland Orchestra to perform it takes an army of behind the scenes volunteers to pull off each performance. The Cleveland Orchestra is currently seeking volunteer ushers, greeters, ticket takers (who assist at concerts by The Cleveland Orchestra (evening, matinee, education, family, and holiday events) and performances by other ensembles including the Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra, Cleveland Pops Orchestra, Cleveland Institute of Music Orchestra, Cleveland Youth Wind Symphony, and the Cleveland Women’s Orchestra, as well as other musical and non-musical events), tour guides (who conduct public and private tours pointing out the many significant historical and architectural details about Severance Hall) and store clerks (who offer sales assistance in the Cleveland Orchestra Store during weekdays and on weekends at concert times) to help out during the 2014-2015 season.

Interviews for these various positions will be held at Severance Hall on Monday, August 4, 2014; Thursday, August 14, 2014 and Wednesday, August 20, 2014. The interviews will take place from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Applications will be available in the Severance Hall’s Smith Lobby and Front of House stage members will be available to answer questions.

Those that volunteer to help the Cleveland Orchestra at Severance Hall are asked to commit their time for the entire seasons which runs from September through June. You will also be required to attend a training class and orientation session prior to the beginning of the 2014-2015 season.

Middle and High School Students are also being sought for placement in the Junior Volunteer Corps in order to assist in Family Concerts, Musical Rainbow Performances, Cleveland Youth Orchestra Concerts, Holiday Concerts and other special events which are mostly daytime performances during the weekends. A orientation and training program will also be required for members of the Junior Volunteer Corps. Adult ushers serve as mentors for these young volunteers, who may be able to earn credit toward community service requirements at their schools.

Those that volunteer at Severance Hall are given the opportunity to hear great music in a world class venue as well as enjoy the company of fellow music loving volunteers as you contribute your time and talents to this world class Orchestra. Severance Hall Volunteers are renowned for their energy, enthusiasm and eagerness to serve the public with the highest level of customer service.
