Shot by Swedish journalists, The Black Power Mixtape 1967-1975 is a collection of rare footage and interviews of the most prominent Black Powers leaders. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre – (Orlando, FL). Vacationing in the Orlando area? Then make some time for the Enzian Theater’s Wednesday Night Pitcher Show. Inspired by the 1957 Ed Gein murders, Tobe Hooper’s classic slasher flick, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, will be tonight’s free, outdoor movie. Show time is at 8:30 p.m., but make sure to come early and stay late for the 7-11 p.m. hour at the Enzian’s Eden Bar. The happy hour event will also include a jell-o shot trivia competition.
The Rocky Horror Picture Show – (Tallahassee, FL). “See The Rocky Horror Picture Show—a different set of jaws.” It’s finally here! Florida State University’s annual Rocky Horror event is coming this Friday (October 21) to the Student Life Cinema. Movie starts at midnight and will be accompanied by the Cheap Thrills live troupe. Gruesome Twosome Double Feature – (Melbourne, FL). In association with the Melbourne Zombie Walk, Cinemaworld will be hosting a double feature movie event this Friday, October 21. This event will include two comic-horror zombie classics: Robert Rodriguez’s Planet Terror and Peter Jackson’s Dead Alive. Event starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $8.00 for general admission and $4.00 for participants of the Melbourne Zombie Walk.
Zombi II – (Atlanta, GA). “We are going to eat you!” Planning a trip to Atlanta? Make sure not to miss the Splatter Cinema presentation of Zombi II—Lucio Fulci’s classic, yet unofficial, sequel to George Romero’s Dawn of the Dead. Nosferatu – (Jacksonville, FL). The 5 Points Theater’s 3rd annual Horror Fest kicks off with cinema’s first known vampire movie: F.W. Murnau’s 1922 classic, Nosferatu. Movie will be this Friday at 7:00 p.m. and will feature live accompaniment from Tony Steve and Bob Moore. Admission is $10.00.

Phantasm – (Jacksonville, FL). The horror festivities continue at 5 Points Theater with a sinister mix of magic and gore. There will be a midnight showing of the 1979 cult classic, Phantasm, this Saturday, October 22. Doors open at 11:00 p.m. Admission is $6.50.

Well, The Plaza Theater is kicking it up a notch with Dear God, No!—a film with a hodge-podge of inspirational infamy that combines bike sexploitation with such infamous classics as I Spit on Your Grave and The Undertaker and His Pals. The Troll Hunter – (Jacksonville, FL). “The most important film of our time is Norwegian.” The festivities continue at 5 Points Theater with a two night showing of The Troll Hunter. Inspired by Norwegian folklore, this film follows five college students who hunt trolls in order to expose a deadly government secret. Show times are Friday, October 21 at 9:00 p.m. and Sunday, October 23 at 3:00 p.m. Admission is $6.50.
Hobo with a Shotgun – ( Jacksonville, FL). Rutger Hauer channels his inner Travis Bickle in this blood soaked nod to the grindhouse films of the ‘70s and ‘80s. Can we say 42nd Street forever? This movie proves we can. Show times are on Saturday, October 22 at 9:00 p.m. and Sunday, October 23 at 5:00 p.m. Part of the 5 Points Theater’s Horror Fest. Admission is $6.50.
Zaat – (Jacksonville, FL). Celebrating its 40th anniversary, the 5 Points Theater’s presentation of Zaat promises to be a big event. Filmed in Jacksonville, this 1971 cult classic features a walking catfish creature and not much else. The film has been shown numerous times on Turner Classic Movies and is best known as a Mystery Science Theater 3000 episode under the title The Blood Waters of Dr. Z. Show time is Sunday, October 23 at 7:30 p.m. A meet and greet with the movie’s cast and crew will be featured after the show. Admission is $10.00.
