A developing system will slowly move through the Clarksville area over the next few days and will cause showers and thunderstorms to develop into the weekend. The risk for precipitation will be low today as the moisture begins to feed back into the region. Mostly cloudy skies though will remain over the area and will cause temperatures to remain in the upper eighties today. The cloudy skies continue for the day of Friday, but this will be the day with the best chance of precipitation as the system moves across the region. The scattered showers and thunderstorms will continue into the day Saturday as the system moves out of the region, but skies will have some breaks of sun during the day. Looking to the rest of the weekend, skies are expected to be partly cloudy with a risk for a shower or thunderstorm during the afternoon after the heating of the day. Temperatures are expected to warm as the upcoming workweek approaches with highs reaching the lower to middle nineties by Tuesday. With any showers and thunderstorms that do develop, there is the potential for them to become strong to severe with heavy rain and gusty winds as the main concern.
