Cloudy skies are expected for the Clarksville area today as a system slowly moves into the region. This system is expected to bring heavy rain to the southern portions of Tennessee, but could still bring a few showers and thunderstorms to the region during the day today. Temperatures for today will remain cool with highs in the upper seventies. The best chance for precipitation will be tonight as the system makes the closest approach to the Clarksville area before moving to the east. Any thunderstorms that do develop has the chance to produce heavy rains. The risk for precipitation will continue into the weekend as a more summer like pattern develops with temperatures warming into the lower eighties on Saturday and up to the upper eighties on Sunday. The warm temperatures and higher humidity levels will return by the beginning of the upcoming workweek as highs for Monday and Tuesday will be in the lower nineties with a risk for showers and thunderstorms each day.
