The Clarksville area forecast for August 17th, 2014

After a stretch of nice days in the Clarksville area, skies have begun to become more grey as clouds continue to move into the region. Temperatures will be near average today as highs will be in the upper eighties, but there is a risk for showers and thunderstorms to develop today. The risk for precipitation today will be due to a wave of energy moving through the region. The risk for precipitation will begin to weaken heading into the beginning of the workweek as the wave of energy moves to the east and a trough develops over the eastern United States. This trough will remain slightly to the north of the Clarksville area, but will be close enough to allow for the risk for showers and thunderstorms to develop through much of the upcoming workweek. Temperatures will remain near constant heading into the workweek as highs will be near ninety and overnight lows will be in the lower seventies.
