The City of Burleson will be conducting a bond and Charter election today November 7. Voters residing in Tarrant County will cast their ballot at St. Anne Catholic Church 100 SW Alsbury Blvd. Those citizens living in Johnson County will vote at Rom Harmon Subcourthouse 247 Elk Drive. Both polling places will be open 7 a.m.-7 p.m. You must show a current photo ID to be able to vote.
There are four bond issues that need a yes or no decision. The first is ‘$21284 million in tax bonds for ‘street and public mobility improvements’. The second is ’$21,800,000 tax bonds for ‘public safety radio equipment’. The third is’$ 5,000,000 police station facility acquisitions’. The fourth is ‘$750,000 for ‘economic development and the Nola Dunn gymnasium.’
There are also 12 propositions to amend the City Charter that need to be determined. The areas of concern are ‘corporate and general powers, city council ordinances administration, municipal court, elections, sale of City property, contracts and purchasing franchises, public utilities, conflict of interest and simplifying Charter language in compliance with state law.’
