The circus troupe will put on eight shows over the course of the weekend, starting Friday with a show at 4 p.m. The shows will be held in a 500-seat circus tent, and each performance is about an hour and a half long.
The tent is set up in Parking Lot C at the base of Winter Park Resort. We’re told that it’s so big that you can’t miss it from Highway 40. Winter Park Resort recommends parking in the Vintage lot and taking the Cabriolet over to the shows. The Cabriolet, by the way, is a gondola-like lift that goes from the Vintage lot to Winter Park Village.
There will be three shows at 1 p.m., 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, and a matinee on Monday at 11 a.m.
The show is led by Giovanni Zoppé, a sixth-generation circus performer who plays Nino the clown and takes the audience through a central story, rather than individual acts. The act includes acrobatic feats, equestrian showmanship, clowns and audience participation.
Tickets are $20 for VIP chair seating or $15 for general admission bleacher seating and can be purchased at the gate one hour prior to each performance or in advance at Winter Park Resort’s website, the Winter Park Resort box office, or the Winter Park-Fraser Valley Chamber of Commerce in the Town of Winter Park. If you buy tickets in advance you can save $5. Children two and under are free.
