Meaningful Beauty by Cindy Crawford (Guthy-Renker)

It seems like every aging supermodel or actress is developing her own skin care or makeup lines these days and Cindy Crawford is no exception.  Her skin care line, Meaningful Beauty, has quickly become one of the hottest selling skin care lines in recent months. 

The Cindy Crawford Meaningful Beauty skin care line was developed in partnership with anti-aging specialist Dr. Jean-Louis Sebagh.  Crawford was a patient of Dr. Sebagh's for years, relying on him to keep her skin healthy and happy throughout all the stress of constant travel and modeling.

The key ingredient to the Meaningful Beauty skin care line is derived from a rare melon found only in the south of France, "cantaloupe charentais."  HIgh in first generation antioxidants (the strongest antioxidants), the extracts from this melon help to slow the breaking down of collagen.  Additional benefits form skin care with high antioxidant levels include protection from free radicals, and diminished appearance of sun damage and age spots.

All seven of the Meaningful Beauty products by Cindy Crawford contain the serum that is made from this melon. While little research shows that anti-aging ingredients in cleansers are on the skin long enough to have any benefit, the Meaningful Beauty cleanser is a nice product.  Fragrance-free, non-foaming, and gentle for use both day and night, it is an effective cleanser that removes makeup and leaves the skin feeling soft and conditioned.

The Meaninful Beauty set comes with two different moisturizers.  The day moisturizer has a SPF of 20, making sure that all the work being done by the anti-aging skin care line is protected.  There is nothing that ages skin faster than exposure to the sun.   The moisturizing serum for the evening is rich and luxurious, but lightweight, and easily demonstrates why it is one of Meaningful Beauty's best-selling products. 

The Meaningful Beauty mask is nothing more than an amped up clay mask, but it is effective in exfoliating the skin when used once per week.   The Meaningful Beauty eye cream is creamy and hydrating, though there is nothing truly standout about its results after one week.  That isn't to say it performs poorly, it actually is quite effective, but it does not seem to outperform any other high-end eye cream.

Perhaps the most notable product in the Meaningful Beauty line by Cindy Crawford is the Glowing Serum, a lightweight serum jampacked with soy proteins, marine botanicals and the Meaningful Beauty antioxidant combination.  Not only does this serum go on smoothly and add a natural luminosity that doesn't look fake or oily, the skin feels softer and smoother instantly.  Under foundation, the Glowing Serum acts almost like a foundation primer, with the added benefits of anti-aging antioxidant protection.

Overall Meaningful Beauty is a skin care line that performs better than most.  Priced at a remarkably affordable $29.95 for a supply that will last a couple of months, the price point is comparable to what most people would pay for a one-month supply in any drugstore, and far less thatn what most comsumers pay for a high-end skin care line in a department store.  The Meaningful Beauty skin care line does have a lot of the most effective anti-aging ingredients that should be in any reputable skin care line, like antioxidants, co-enzyme Q-10, and various lipoic acids.
