"Cinco de Mayo recognizes and remembers the people’s victory and their struggle for freedom. On May 5, 1862, in the town of Puebla, the outnumbered Mexican army defeated French forces providing the momentum and national confidence to drive foreign power from their country. Cinco de Mayo is a celebration of freedom and culture. Cinco de Mayo celebrates the tradition of freedom and acknowledges the beauty of Latino culture." (http://www.cincodemayodenver.com/)

Cinco de Mayo has always been recognized and celebrated by both Latinos and non-Latinos alike for many years. Cinco in the Park is a great way for all of us in the Denver Metro area to do just that! A big turn out is expected which gives people the opportunity to experience the Latino culture and really get a feel for what a true Cinco de Mayo celebration would feel like! The authenticity of the event is amazing, a lot of other parties and events going on in the city fail to include the traditional foods, music and dances that are part of the culture and truly make up this day of celebration, but Cinco in the Park is sure to impress. If you are searching for that true Latin flair, good food, good music and high spirits, Cinco in the park is the place to be this weekend.
