Mark your calendar for The Chronicle of Philanthropy’s free online discussion/seminar titled “Advice on Navigating a Nonprofit Career” scheduled Tuesday, March 16 at 11 a.m. CDT.
Looking to leap into the nonprofit world from another field? Spinning your wheels in a soft job market? Facing staffing challenges with shrinking resources? The Chronicle’s web discussion will encompass job hunting, recruiting, and managing in the nonprofit world. Attendees can anonymously pose the questions they might otherwise be afraid to ask about the job market, pay, perks, and running an organization. Discussion hosts will include Patty Hampton, managing director of staffing services at Nonprofit HR Solutions, in Washington, and Wayne Luke, head of executive search at The Bridgespan Group, in Boston. The discussion is sponsored by Philanthropy Careers’ advice column, Hotline.
In addition to the career advice seminar next Tuesday, forthcoming discussions presented by The Chronicle include “Taxes and Philanthropy: Two Donors Share Their Ideas” and “How to Inspire Giving by Secular Donors.” The Chronicle of Philanthropy also allows site visitors to access archived transcripts of past seminars such as “Text-Message Fund Raising: What Your Group Needs to Know” and “Turning First-Time Donors Into Repeat Givers.”
