The Chicago Code premieres tonight on FOX - Cast Interviews (Video, Photos)

"The Chicago Code" premieres tonight on FOX and Chicagoans will all be tuning in tonight to see how the show is going to portray their beloved city. After watching lots of clips and previews and interviews with the cast it seems like this show will have some of the heart pumping of "Southlands" which is shot on location in L.A. and a little of the heart of "Blue Bloods" shot on location in NYC.

Jennifer Beals plays the part of the newly appointed Police Superintendent Teresa Colvin - "She has a healthy dose of irreverance and a proper Chicago committment" says her co-star This is a show about trying to make your community the place you'd like it to be. Creator and Executive Producer Shawn Ryan describes why he chose Beal for the part "There were alot of things that were appealing about her...she had the right gravitas in terms of being a believable young superintendent in the City of Chicago". Brian Lowry of Variety isn't sold on Jennifer Beal in the part "Clarke's former partner Teresa Colvin (Beals) has become superintendent, and while there are snide jokes about putting a "prom queen" in the job, they don't fully deflect that the glamorous actress looks completely out of place. It's a near-fatal bit of miscasting, one that nearly dumps a bucket of water on the whole exercise." Source: Variety Reviews Only time will tell but I'm willing to give her a chance.

Americans have such a love affair with Australians, Australian accents, pretty much anything from down under so it's a shame that the lead actor Jason Clarke as (Jarek Wysocki) on The Chicago Code has to spend 2-3 hours every day turning his Aussie words into the midwestern Chicago cop talk. The ladies in the audience would just as soon listen to him talk in his interview that is included in the video gallery. Co-star Jennifer Beals talks about the character of Jarek Wysocki and Teresa Colvins relationship to him "They are friends, she has a great deal of respect for him, he is her eyes on the street."

Matt Lauria (Friday Night Lights) plays detective Caleb Evers the new young partner of the legendary Jarek Wysocki. Wysocki makes the young recruit earn his stripes before he'll even acknowledge his existence. He asks one question... Cubs or Sox? White Sox he says, apparently that's the right answer since Wysocki lets him in the squad car. Jarek doesn't like having people around hearing his conversation, eating his food, messing his car up getting in his way says Jason Clarke about his character. Jarek has the experience and knows what to do and how to do it. That's why Caleb seems to have a bit of hero worship for the guy and wants badly to be his partner.

The video gallery includes cast interviews with Jason Clarke, Matt Lauria, Jennifer Beals and some behind the scenes looks at the City of Chicago in "The Chicago Code."
