On today's ABC hit show "The Chew" all five co-hosts were in attendance, as they sat and discussed sending holiday cards.
On “Chewsday Tuesday” the audience got to choose (chews) which holiday cookies Carla Hall would make. The choices were Spiced Dulce de Leche Sandwich Cookies or a traditional Marcona Almond Wedding Cookie. Although the Marcona Almond Wedding Cookies won the audience vote; both cookie recipes along with all other recipes of the day are located here.
To keep the theme traditional for Feliz Navidad, they introduced Mario Lopez to help out with the recipes. Mario is Mexican and his wife Courtney Mazza is 100% Italian. They showed a picture of their two adorable children, Gia Francesca and son Dominic. Mario shared with the crew that he and his family will be celebrating the holidays in Mexico.
Mario Batali made a traditional favorite of Mario’s, Green Chile Pork Tamales. All members of the panel were loving the finished product. Mario Lopez, who starred on “Saved by the Bell” was introduced to a Chew version of a game called “Saved by the Smell.” In front of Mario were three plates that were all covered by a cloche. If Mario could identify by smell two of the three foods, the audience would receive a cookbook from Food & Wine named Best New Chefs All-Star Cookbook featuring Michael Symon on the cover. So donning a blindfold, he smelled the first one, which was tripe, then mincemeat pie, he guessed them both right, and the third was never revealed, because the audience won.
The cookies Carla Hall made were the almond ones which they had a blast making, and Daphne Oz had fun eating the dough because there were no eggs in it. Michael made Chicken and Chorizo Paella, and Clinton topped off the meal with his Mulled Sangria.
