The Chew replaces All My Children on ABC: Batali, Hall & Symon

Food, you can’t live without it but we can live without soap operas it seems. Two long standing soap operas have received cancellation notices from ABC - All My Children and One Life to Live were given their cancellation notices.

September, 2011 The Chew will premiere. The Chew which is following the format of The View and The Talk will cover all aspects of food, the trends from pop up restaurants to urban food trucks to more serious subjects of pesticides in our foods and what we are feeding our children in schools.  A diverse and yet lively panel of hosts will bring their opinions to the table – pun intended.

The hosts:

  •          Mario Batali (chef, restaurateur, author, television personality and  actor)
  •          Clinton Kelly (TLC’s What Not to Wear ) – entertainment guide
  •          Carla Hall (Top Chef, caterer and entrepreneur)
  •          Michael Symon (chef, restaurateur & Iron Chef)
  •          Daphne Oz – nutritional expert

If it is food it will be "chewed"

Emmy Award executive producer Gordon Elliot has created The Chew believes food has become the center of everyone’s life. The Chew will focus on every nook and cranny from breaking food news, fitness, travel adventures, family, dating, friendship, traditions..if it is food, then it will be “chewed”.
