On today's Thursday edition of the ABC hit show "The Chew" was titled “The Chew’s Snow Day,” With all the crew on hand except for Michael Symon, they got to celebrate one of their childhood favorites; a snow day as the crew and audience were all dressed in white!
They showed a copy of the White House Christmas card that contained a pop-up of the White House inside. They also discussed a new law to allow cell phone conversations on airplanes. Daphne brought up a good point; what do you do if stuck next to a person who talks incessantly during a three-hour flight across the country? Parachute or earplugs anyone?
On a segment called “Dueling Dutch Ovens,” Mario Batali and Daphne Oz each had a Dutch oven and showed how to make great snow day recipes in one pot. Mario made Leek, Parsnip and Carrot Agnolotti in Brodo and Daphne made Chicken Pozole Verde. As they cooked side-by-side, each made a dish that was perfect on a snowy day.
After a snowball game with audience members, Carla Hall showed how to truly caramelize onions. It takes a while, but worth every minute. After she was through with the onion, she proceeded to make her delicious Caramelized Onion Hummus recipe.
The final day of the 12 Days of Ornaments was presented, but you can see all twelve here.
