Back in the days when I was a kid, diabetes was practically unheard of. I knew of no one that had this disease. Now, I know I am taking that "name your age" trip back to the 1960's...but, it is what it is. Now that I'm a little older the difference between yesteryear and today is like night and day. A third (or more) Americans has diabetes today! What is so different today than what it was in the 1960's? Well... the biggest difference is how and what we eat. Soda's and fast foods has come a long way since the 1960's and the amount of exercise has seen a sharp decline as well.

In my next article we will take a closer look on how we as a people evolved to where we are today and what we can do about it. So, until then please eat responsibility and limit your children on the Xbox (just a thought.)
