The changing Colorado Springs thrift shopping scene

"As the nation goes, so go the thrift stores." If you frequent second hand shops in Colorado Springs, then surely you have noticed the changes within the last year or so. Following the national economic downturn, thrift stores are now some of the busier shopping venues in town -- and the available stock and selection reflects the change.

I've been writing about our local thrift and antique shopping scene for 3 years now, giving you details about area sales, markets, and special events. I've also reviewed each Colorado Springs store worth visiting on my examiner.com page, and even many outside of town that are within driving distance. I share all the secrets, tips, and sources for all the vintage goodness around town.

So for 2013, I will be returning to our area thrift stores and bringing you up to date on what has changed and what remains the same in my new series, "Colorado Springs Antiques, Vintage and Thrift Shopping 2013". To subscribe, click on the "+ subscribe" link at the top of this page; you will receive an email whenever I publish a new article, and you won't miss a thing.

If you have an antique or thrift store (not a clothing/consignment shop) I haven't already featured, send me an email: csantiqueandthriftwriter@gmail.com

Want to share some of your own local antique or thrift shopping experiences? You can email me about that, too, or comment below.
