2011 ARALDICA BARBERA D'ASTI "ALBERA"
Piedmont, Italy. 100% Barbara. Something that may be a bit safer to your wallet, kneecaps and thumbs is to drink plenty of this stylish Barbera from a genuinely delightful producer from the Asti section of Piedmont. Polished and forward notes of plum, black cherry, licorice, cocoa, rose petal and violet dust prevail on the nose, while ripe, round deep dark fruits and cocoa linger on the supple frame, making it the perfect wine for winter stews or hearty pasta dishes.

On the palate it is engaging, shows nice warmth and fleshy characteristics with nice spicy-earth on the back end. Another winner from one of Portugal's heroic producers! Drink with grilled sausages.
