The causes of stress and what to do about it part 7

If we remain attached to this ideal that stress is supposed to be part of life and that there is no way that there is a better way to live, then we remain attached to a life that will remain unfulfilling and unhappy. We have to let things go, learn to see that they are the past and are gone forever. If we understand that all that is real is the present then we can understand that the past simply does not exist.

So when things that are stressors come in our lives and we see them as just a apart of life for the reasons that we learned we can just let them go into the past and forget them. This is one way that we can defeat stress before it becomes real. The good news is that the more you practice this path of letting go, the better and quicker you will get at it.

Let go, smile, enjoy, play, take your herb tonics, change how and what you eat and how you live daily life and breathe deeply. Give yourself the time and attention you deserve with moments of stillness and calmness as well as your children and watch the stressors lose their power. This is a call to a national day of stress free living; give yourself a stress-free day by doing the following:

  • Turn off the TV, phone, especially the cell phone
  • Walk- no cars- and especially, no freeways (If you do drive)
  • Touch some nature- garden or go to the park; walk barefoot
  • Play, laugh and smile- all day- even if you force it
  • Pay attention and listen to your body
  • Be yourself- the masks we wear are fundamental stressors themselves
  • Be present in the moment

Now just to recap on what this seven part series has taught us, stress is caused by the lifestyle we live, this includes how unhealthy we are eating and cooking. It includes how we look at life’s stressors, if we are living in the past and the future then we are not living in the present and we remain attached to negative things. This causes stress to become a chronic problem.

We see stress as an actual normal thing and it isn’t, this is because we have never learned what to do and how to deal with stressors properly, it has become an excuse and this is not truth. Another problem is sensory overload, we need to limit technology in our lives and get back to the basics, and this includes our kids.

There are people that specialize in helping other people change their lives to be better able to handle stressful situations and those are mainly the Buddhists and other spiritual teachers. There are herbal tonics we need to use daily that will help our bodies be better ready to deal with stressors. With the practice of letting go we can overcome this destructive cycle of negativity and chronic stress, May you all be blessed and well. Comments are very welcome below.
