Spooky is big in hidden object games. Somehow, we just can't get enough of ghosts, eerie settings, haunted houses and dark magic. The latest hidden object adventure by ERS Game Studios, Redemption Cemetery: Curse of the Raven gives us three of the four as we find ourselves trapped in a supernatural cemetery.

The game starts (as so many ghost stories do) with a car accident that leaves you trapped inside a particularly ominous cemetery. Looking like something out of a 19th century nightmare, the place is littered with tumbledown gravestones and looming mauseoleums. While searching for a way out, you somehow summon an unquiet spirit who pleads with you to save his daughter who died in a house fire. You then embark on a trip through time and space in order to set the past right.

This episode sets the tone for the rest of the game as you move around the cemetery, helping other restless spirits take care of unfinished business. The structure of the game will be very familiar to hidden object enthusiasts, as you rummage through cluttered rooms looking for items to fix whatever difficult situation you find yourself in. Alternating between this and solving various situational puzzles (including unlocking various brain-teaser style puzzles), you work your way towards a means of unlocking the cemetery gate and finding your way to freedom.

Redemption Cemetery: Curse of the Raven is a beautiful, magical game. While similar to many other spooky hidden object titles out there, it definitely deserves to be categorized in the upper ranks of current games of the genre. Available now for $6.99 (member price) exclusively at Big Fish Games.
