The long awaited series premiere of "The Carrie Diaries" is set to air on the CW January 14, 2013 and fans are waiting with bated breath to get details of the upcoming premiere. On December 31, 2012 Spoiler TV released the premiere synopsis which is chalk full of fantastic spoilers. If the spoilers from the first episode are any indication this prequel to the hit series "Sex in the City" promises to be entertaining. Check out the details below and watch the teaser premiere video here.

In the premiere the 16 year old Carrie Bradshaw is coming to grips with the recent death of her mother while trying to keep her family from spinning out of control. Her younger sister Dorritt is acting out in rebellous ways and her father is struggling to keep everything together as a single dad. Meanwhile, when she heads back to school, things look different in junior high and to make matters worse her arch nemesis Donna LaDonna (gotta love the name) throws a pity party for her. Her friends gather around her and offer some stability and the new guy Sebastian offers some excitment, but Carrie can't help but feel like her life is going in a different direction.

Things start to come together when she accepts an internship at a law firm where she meets the first major man in her life - Manhattan. In the city she meets and amazing woman named Larissa Loughlin who is outgoing and free spirited and has the perfect job as style editor for Interview magazine. Loughlin introduces Carrie to the life that only existed in her dreams.
