The Capitol Steps plan to bring down the house—and the Senate—with their unique blend of music and political comedy when they perform Saturday, October 19, at 8 p.m., at The Theatre at Raritan Valley Community College in Branchburg, New Jersey.
The performance is part of the Theatre’s Major Artists Series. Tickets cost $32 and $42.
The Capitol Steps have performed for more than 30 years, sharing their talents with five US Presidents and audiences in all 50 states. This performance will include such “characters” as Barrack Obama, Joe Biden, Marco Rubio, Pope Francis and more—on stage and singing show tunes. The troupe’s latest album, Fiscal Shades of Gray, celebrates the new bipartisan spirit in Washington.
The Capitol Steps began as a group of Senate staffers who set out to satirize the very people who employed them. Since then, they have recorded over 30 albums and have been featured on NBC, CBS, ABC and PBS. The Steps also can be heard four times a year on National Public Radio stations nationwide during the troupe’s Politics Takes a Holiday radio specials.
