Bachelorettes are lining up for the first edition of The Bachelor Canada, slated to film this spring.
Though the Bachelor has yet to be named, hundreds of young women lined up outside the Intercontinental Toronto Centre hotel yesterday to interview for a spot on the show. The show is being produced by Force Four Entertainment for Citytv.
One Bachelorette wannabe was hoping to find true love, hoping that “maybe if somebody else chooses a guy for me I’ll have a little better luck than choosing him myself.” Another really wasn’t that interested in finding a mate, saying “we all know the exotic places that these girls get to go, so travel is probably my number one reason for being here.”
Bachelorette applications aren’t limited to just Toronto residents. Casting calls have already taken place in Vancouver, Calgary and Winnipeg, but three final opportunities exist:
Sunday, February 26 – Toronto, at the InterContinental Toronto Centre Hotel, 10 am – 2 pm
Monday, February 27 – Montreal, at the Hyatt Regency Montreal, 11 am – 8 pm
Tuesday, February 28 – Halifax, at the Halifax Marriott Harbourfront Hotel, 12:30 pm – 8 pm
Candidates are encouraged to “dress to impress”, ready to be videoed. That means no white or black, busy patters or clothing with logos. They must also bring a completed application form, either a passport or birth certificate and a Driver’s License or government issued photo ID.
Some of the questions on the application hint at the type of women they’re looking for:
- What is your ultimate fantasy date?
- If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?
- Show us your special talents?
- What do you look for in a man?
- What are your guilty pleasures?
Will the Bachelor find true love in 9 episodes? Who will receive the final rose? While the answers to these questions wait to be seen, constant updates will appear on both The Bachelor Canada’s Twitter feeds and Facebook Fan Page.
Guesses are flooding the internet about who the Canadian Bachelor could be. Remember, some single Canadians include:
- Ryan Gossling, Actor
- Ryan Reynolds, Actor
- Chris Campoli, hockey player (who has dated past Bachelor contestants!)
- Brad Nickel, former Calvin Klein model
- Milos Raonic, tennis ace
