"The Calling" abduction is making headline news today. On Aug. 17, Alex Band -- the lead singer of the group -- was walking from his hotel to a near by "mini-mart" around 4 a.m. according to TMZ. As he was walking down the street in Michigan (the group was there for a music festival), a van pulled up alongside him and pulled him in. The men in the van reportedly robbed Alex and severely beat him before dumping his body near some train tracks.
According to the report, the rest of the band noticed that Alex was missing in the morning and they set out to look for him, finding him a short time later.
"The Calling" abduction could have easily been much worse. It's unknown if Alex was just in the wrong place at the wrong time or if the people who abducted him actually knew who he was. After he was found he was rushed to a local hospital but he was released shortly after. He is expected to be okay but is undoubtedly shook up after the ordeal.
TMZ reports that the police are investigating this crime. They are looking for two male suspects and a blue minivan. "The Calling" nor Alex Band have released a statement of any kind following the incident.
Details on "The Calling" abduction will be released as more information becomes public.
