The ‘Call of Duty’ championship with $1 million on the line is now underway

Activision announced today that the “Call of Duty” Championship has now begun. The “Call of Duty: Black Ops 2tournament, sponsored by Xbox, will place the 32 best teams from around the world in a competition for a $1 million cash prize. This is the first annual world-wide “Call of Duty” Championship and the event will be broadcast live from Hollywood on the “Call of Duty” Elite website all weekend long.

Since the championship is being sponsored by Xbox, all matches (and the qualifiers leading up to them) are to be played exclusively on the Xbox 360 version of “Call of Duty: Black Ops 2.” The tournament for the popular first-person shooter will take place throughout the remainder of this weekend and the entire event will be watchable by all.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2” is out now on the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, PC, and Nintendo’s Wii U.
