The Jaguars chicken little routine From now until this team moves out of the Jacksonville, Florida area I want everyone to remain vigilant for “The Sky is falling” actions of the Jacksonville Jaguars management. The first instance of this is the team trying to milk an extra 4 million dollars from the city of Jacksonville. Essentially the money is the city’s share of a naming rights deal for Jacksonville Municipal Stadium. To understand this issue we must remember that the city invested 121 million dollars to renovate the old Gator Bowl and help land Jacksonville a NFL franchise. |

Did the Detroit Lions make a huge mistake? So we all know that the Detroit Lions had to wheel and deal to get second overall 2010 draft pick Ndamukong Suh signed to a contract. They were unwilling to give him a bigger contract then QB Matthew Stafford, and to make that happen they had to shave a year off Suh’s deal. |

Does the NFL Personal Conduct Policy apply to all? Roger Goodell is fond of saying that the NFL Personal Conduct Policy applies to all, players, coaches and management equally. However I really got to ask, is that rally true? Oakland Raiders Head Coach Tom Cable got into a physical confrontation with an Assistant Coach more than a year ago, and yet no suspension or fine. Detroit Lions President Tom Lewand was pulled over and arrested for Drunk Driving last Saturday night and yet he remains on the job. |

Haynesworth, Washington Redskins in a real mess Albert Haynesworth has no desire to be the Nose Tackle in a 3-4 defense, and since Mike Shanahan came to town to run the Washington Redskins it seems that is what the team will use as their base defense. Now the two sides are locked in a fight over weather or not the team and player should continue their relationship. Complicating all of this is a 21 million dollar bonus that was paid to Haynesworth on April first. |

NFL wants to expand to 18 game regular season It seems that the NFL is hell bent on expanding the regular season to 18 games. This is likely to due to a couple of factors. The first as a compromise tool with their players union to add games and keep players salaries where they are, or slightly higher, and to force all 32 NFL teams to have a game held outside of the United States, or at some other venue to help grow the league world wide. There are a few potential problems with getting rid of pre-season games in favor of regular season contests, but on the whole this seems like a pretty solid plan. |

Sale of St. Louis Rams gets interesting So long Shahid Khan and hello Stan Kroenke, well sort of. Kroenke owns 40% of the St. Louis Rams and had a contract clause for right of first refusal to refuse the sale of the other 60% of the team held by members of the Rosenbloom family. He has invoked that clause, and made this sale a real mess. |

Over the last two or so seasons it seems that the Philadelphia Eagles have had a very out with old and in with the new philosophy. The got rind of mainstay Brian Westbrook, Brian Dawkins, and most recently QB Donovan McNabb. Head Coach Andy Reid use to carry a lot of weight in the decisions on personnel, and that also seems to be changing. It seems that new General Manger Howie Rozeman and Team President Joe Banner are attempting to take back some of that control. |

Did the Eagles disrespect Donovan McNabb? As with everything there are two ways to interpret the decision by the Philadelphia Eagles to trade QB Donovan McNabb to their division rival Washington Redskins. |
