The Burleson Police Department holds award banquet

The Burleson Police Department held their annual award banquet in January and presented three Medal of Valor awards, eight lifesaving awards and an Honorary Dispatcher Award.

Tiffany Bauereisen received the accolade of Officer of the Year Award, Sgt. Craig Bastible was presented with the Sargent of the Year Award, and Steve Haas was named the Civilian Employee of the Year. The Telecommunicator of the Year Award went to Sabrina Rivera, Officer Robert Collard received the Citizen Policing Award and Wanda Page, the Victims Assistance Coordinator, was presented with the Ofelia Blair Character Award.

The Honorary Lifetime Dispatch Award was presented to Shelia Watson amidst a standing ovation. She was recognized for her ‘time and dedication to the dispatch center and for the love of her brothers and sisters in law enforcement’.

In addition to those top honors, there were plenty more award s presented to deserving men and women in the Burleson Police Department. Officers Scott Bartlett, and Kasey Martin, Sergeants Bob Sherman and Bostible received the Medal of Valor. Life Saving Awards were bestowed upon Communications Specialist Dana Carey, Katie Reynolds and Desire Norman, Detective Tom Catron, and Officers Tim Maby and Chaz Garrett.
