Second grader Christian Bucks saw something at an German elementary school and that gave him the idea to bring it to his school. The playground Buddy Bench is a place where children can feel welcome to find a friend to talk or play with.
Christian explains how this works for school students, "If they are feeling lonely and don't have anything to do they go sit on the Buddy Bench and someone will come and ask if they want to play or talk to that kid." He took the idea to his school principal, Matt Miller, at Roundtown Elementary in York, Pennsylvania and the principal with the support of Christian's parents have helped set up the Buddy Bench at school.
Not only does this inspire students at Roundtree but it is an idea for all schools across the United States to have a buddy bench. The idea has gone viral which has made the school principal proud of this students wonderful idea.
