"The Brittany Murphy Story" movie trailer has now been officially released by Lifetime Television. The actress passed away on Dec. 20, 2009 and a lot of mystery still surrounds her death. Now it appears that a made-for-television film is going to offer some theories. According to a report from celeb site Gossip Cop on Saturday (Aug. 23), Lifetime will debut a movie about her life on Sept. 6. The film appears intent on going over all the struggles that Murphy had in her public and private life.
The movie and television credits for actress Brittany Murphy go pretty deep, with several roles that really put her on the map in Hollywood. She made appearances on television shows like “Sister, Sister,” “Boy Meets World,” and “Party of Five” before she made her big splash as Tai on “Clueless.” From there she had starring roles in “Girl, Interrupted” as Daisy, the Michael Douglas thriller “Don’t Say a Word” as Elisabeth Burrows, and Eminem’s “8 Mile” as love interest Alex. Soon she had leading roles in films like “Little Black Book,” Just Married,” and “Uptown Girls.”
The most widely known role for Murphy was as the voice of Luanne Platter on the Fox television show “King of the Hill” for many years. Now Lifetime is releasing a film that tries to give answers as to why her life was taken at such a young age. “The Brittany Murphy Story” trailer looks like it has a dark tint to it, but there may be a lighter side revealed that isn’t showcased. Viewers will be able to watch it for the first time on Saturday, Sept. 6.
