FX has a proven track record delivering some great original programming including American Horror Story, Justified, Fargo Sons of Anarchy and more with no sign of slowing down with the return of their police drama The Bridge for a second season.
The first season brought together two detectives, one from Mexico and the other from the US as they hunt for a serial killer that is hunting on both sides of the border, but their investigation was far from easy as they dealt with corruption within the Mexican authorities and the violent drug cartels.
In the new season, they must together to solve the case of the murder of a cartel member found on US soil. Marco, still reeling from the death of his son, continues to deal with corrupt cops and the demands of the cartel. Sonya meets an unexpected man with connections to her past who threatens to come between her and her boss, Lieutenant Hank Wade. The case quickly pulls them all into a complex web of money laundering, police corruption, and the Juarez Drug War which infiltrates the suburban streets of El Paso. Meanwhile the El Paso Times reporters continue to follow the Millie Quintana Money House, a path that will eventually cross that of Marco and Sonya. Charlotte Millwright will have to make the impossible choice between the two worlds that have a grasp on her: the US government and the Mexican cartel. Meanwhile, Steven Linder tries to do right by his Mexican immigrant love and ends up seeking justice the only way he knows how.
The series stars Diane Kruger, Demian Bichir, Anabeth Gish, Ted Levine, Thomas M. Wright, Matthew Lillard, and Emily Rios.
Join the investigation and cross the border when The Bridge premieres on July 9th on FX.
