The breakfast debacle for the gluten-free vegan

If you’ve ever spent a San Francisco morning trying out the various vegan and gluten-free friendly breakfast establishments the city has to offer, you’re probably aware of how limited the options are. Breakfast is by far the most difficult meal to find if you’re gluten-free and vegan because it typically consists of two things: eggs and carbs.

If you also avoid processed foods it eliminates tofu scrambles. So you can see the quandary in which you might find yourself in the early hours of the morning.

Perhaps in a haze called “post night out traipsing everywhere about the city and dancing to exhaustion.” If this is the case your hunger will be imminent and you’ll need reliable options.

After much Internet scouring and restaurant sampling, there are but a few picks for the best gluten-free vegan establishments in San Francisco:

  • Judahlicious
  • The Plant
  • Vegetable Juice and smoothie bars in the Mission.

Stay tuned! Reviews yet to come.
