Last month, the Brady Campaign recognized journalist Helen Thomas as the winner of the "Sarah Brady Visionary Award." In accepting the award, she gave a speech, in which she railed against the Supreme Court's Heller decison.
The inept Supreme Court has found a way for all individuals to have a right to have a gun. It's a cause that's so necessary to assure our individual right to be free from violence, and to pursue our basic rights to life, liberty, and happiness--no guns.
According to Ms. Thomas, apparently, our fundamental human rights require our forcible disarmament. You really have to watch the video to believe it.
Actually, when I called Ms. Thomas a "journalist," I should actually have said "retired journalist," but perhaps I can be forgiven for being behind the times--her retirement just came today--and rather suddenly.
Longtime Washington journalist Helen Thomas abruptly retired Monday as a columnist for Hearst News Service following remarks she made about Israel that were denounced by the White House and her press corps colleagues.
And what "remarks" were those?
On May 27 an interviewer from RabbiLive.com asked Ms. Thomas during a Jewish Heritage Celebration at the White House, “Any comments on Israel? We’re asking everybody today.” She replied, “Tell them to get the hell out of Palestine.”
When the interviewer asked, “Where should they go?,” she said they should “go home” to Poland, Germany, the United States “and everywhere else.”

Poland and Germany, Ms. Thomas--where, within your lifetime, the Jews were murdered in the millions? A fate they were unable to effectively resist, because they had, as you put it "no guns"?
If Helen Thomas is a "visionary," her "vision"--one of a government monopoly on force, and the unspeakable evil that enables--is one that I will spend my last breath trying to prevent.

Kurt, it was tortuous watching Thomas on that video - worse than swallowing a hedgehog and washing it down with cod liver oil.
As you noted, she wants only the state to have guns - while telling Jews to go back home to Germany and Poland. What stupidity.
Comparatively speaking, Nancy Pelosi looks like a hot babe compared to Helen Thomas.
The Supreme Court is not inept Thomas, you are inept.

I am surprised that the nanny-statists, particularly Obama himself, don't have this obviously deranged person as their personal press rep. She certainly seems to know how to keep herself in the picture, even if what she says shows her to be a bigoted individual, and not just about civil rights. She is clearly also anti-Semitic. In other words, Helen Thomas is the EPITOME of the Brady Bunch's views, and is THE perfect spokesman for that organization, which has always lacked morality: to the Brady's, any action they take is justified. The ends justify the means? Not in my world.
