The Bourbon House: it's not just a name

Photo selected from the Bourbon House

Bourbon may have originated in Kentucky, but here in New Orleans, we have perfected the bourbon drinking experience. Located at 144 Bourbon Street, the Bourbon House acts as a pleasant escape from the typical, debauched Bourbon street encounter. If you’re in the French Quarter and you want to avoid (or just take a break from) the shot girls, big-ass beers, and ear-raping 80’s cover bands, enjoy a cocktail or four at the Bourbon House.

The Bourbon House serves over 50 American whiskeys, many of which are difficult to find elsewhere. Not only does Bourbon House have New Orleans’ most extensive list, it also holds a variety of functions in connection with the New Orleans Bourbon Society. In addition to dinners hosted by master distillers, they host bourbon study halls, crafting cocktail lessons, and bourbon tasting flights.

Joining the New Orleans Bourbon Society at the Bourbon House is free and you’ll even, occasionally, drink for free, too! Each month members of the Bourbon Society receive a complimentary pour of one select bourbon. Who doesn’t love a free taste of fine bourbon? You may also want to visit their website for a look at the variety of bourbon selections, a few choice cocktail recipes, or to peruse the menu. If you’re looking for an exquisite drinking and dining experience, spend an evening at the Bourbon House. At the very least, let’s not forget, nothing beats a Bourbon Milk Punch made with love. You won’t be disappointed.
