The Boston Globe's Big Picture

Just over a year ago the Boston Globe launched a wonderful photo blog called The Big Picture. Entries are posted every Monday, Wednesday and Friday by Alan Taylor. Inspired by publications like Life Magazine (of old) and National Geographic, the blog is a collection of high quality 1000 pixel images covering current events and lesser known events.

The current blog entry is a 34 photo collection of the days before and after the dropping of the first atomic bomb in Hiroshima.  Other recent posts cover fires in the Mediterranean, divers around the world and a collection of wonderful lightning images.  These are images captured by some of the world’s best photojournalism photographers.

For a visual treat three times a week, set your browser’s bookmarks and enjoy.
