“The Book Thief” comes to theaters on Friday, January 17, 2014. While the title may not sound too intriguing, the film does have a good plot.
“The Book Thief” follows the life of a young girl named Liesel. Liesel witnesses the horrible events of Nazi Germany while she is in the care of foster parents. The girl comes to live with the couple, toting a stolen book. She begins collecting other reading material in large books to learn to read. Her foster parents keep a Jewish refugee under their stairs and the two learn to read together.
The movie is based on a novel written by Markus Zusak.
Brian Percival will helm the movie.
